The Minister for the Cabinet Office has today recommended Peter Riddell’s appointment as the Commissioner for Public Appointments to the Privy Council.
Matt Hancock, Minister for the Cabinet Office said:
Public appointments cover some of the most important roles in the country, and I am delighted to say Peter Riddell will be the next Commissioner for Public Appointments.
This will be a challenging role. Peter’s distinguished record makes him ideally suited. I very much look forward to working with him to introduce greater transparency and tackle the bureaucracy around public appointments to help attract a diverse range of high calibre people to serve their country in these important roles.
Matt Hancock announced Peter Riddell as the government’s preferred candidate for the role on 17 March 2016.
