Gyms merger reference cancelled

Pure Gym and The Gym have decided not to proceed with their proposed merger following reference for detailed review of transaction.

The CMA has received assurances from the parties that they no longer intend to pursue the proposed merger. Consequently, the Inquiry Group has cancelled the Phase 2 merger reference; which was made on 26 June 2014.
