Dr Keith Ridge, Chief Pharmacist, and Professor Mike Sharland and Dr Cliodna McNulty, from the Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections, have written to the Chief Executives of PCTs and NHS Acute and Foundation Trusts. The letters ask for support from the NHS in promoting this annual event in order to tackle the rise in antibiotic resistance and encourage responsible use of antibiotics.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) have created materials to support the day.
