The Chief Medical Officer, Director of Nursing and Chief Pharmaceutical Officer have today written to GPs and other health professionals emphasising the need to increase flu vaccination rates, particularly among:
- those under 65 years of age who are at risk of the effects of flu because of other conditions
- pregnant women
- health and social care workers who have direct contact with patients
The Seasonal Flu plan - Winter 2012 to 2013, also published today, provides all health professionals involved in next winter’s flu programme with all the information they need to run an effective flu immunisation programme.
