The April edition of the Medical Directors’ Bulletin brings together a large amount of news that affect medical directors along with news that will be of interest. News from the Department of Health includes the request for views on the standard packaging of tobacco products, launch of an audit about A&Es and community safety partnerships, imported fresh frozen plasma, advice from SaBTO on blood components, launch of the dementia challenge, launch of the NHS Leadership Recognition Awards. Additional contributions have come from the GMC and the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement. The Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM) gives an update on its membership and conference to be held in Manchester in October 2012.
