In line with his 2023-24 inspection plan, the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration has commenced an inspection of illegal working enforcement activity.

The scope of this inspection will focus on Immigration Enforcement’s use of powers and policy and the planning processes for operationalising enforcement activity.

The inspection team anticipates reporting to the Home Secretary by November 2023.
