Fire and sinking of fishing vessel Karinya in the Moray Firth, Scotland

Our accident investigation report into the fire and sinking of the twin-rig prawn trawler Karinya in the Moray Firth, Scotland on 4 October 2015, is now published.

The report, available via this link, contains details of what happened and the subsequent actions taken.

A safety flyer for the fishing industry has also been produced summarising the accident and detailing the safety lessons learned.
