Fishing vessel owners and crew urged to review their deck risk assessments to ensure hazards associated with shooting or recovery of creels are fully mitigated.

Today, we have issued a safety bulletin to the fishing vessel community following the fatal man overboard from the potter Kingfisher (DH110), approximately 30 nautical miles east-north-east of Wick, Scotland on 12 July 2024.

The bulletin, available via this link, contains details of what happened, initial findings, safety lessons and a recommendation.
