Capsize and sinking of the 9.96m stern trawler Stella Maris, 14 miles east of Sunderland, England.

Our accident investigation report into the capsize and sinking of the modified fishing vessel Stella Maris on 10 February 2015 is now published.

The report, available via this link, contains details of what happened, actions taken and recommendations.

A safety flyer to the fishing industry accompanies our report. Along with a summary of what happened, the flyer also highlights the importance of intact stability assessments and fitted liferafts.
