Secretary of State Congratulates Darren Clarke on Open Victory

Secretary of State Owen Paterson MP has congratulated Darren Clarke on winning the British Open Golf Championship today.

Mr Paterson said:

Congratulations to Darren Clarke on a great victory today.

His brilliant win completes a ‘hatrick’ of golfing triumphs for Northern Ireland, two US Open and the British Open, in just over a year.

As well as world class golfers there are world class golf courses in Northern Ireland and it would be great to see the Open played here.
