OPSS launches second phase of online product safety campaign
New resources aimed at older people provided to raise awareness of unsafe products sold online.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has launched the second phase of its campaign to raise awareness of unsafe products sold online, with new resources aimed at older people.

OPSS is warning that even well-known and trusted online marketplaces sometimes list unsafe products. The public is being urged to pause and carry out simple checks before purchasing. These include checking the seller’s details and product information, looking for UKCA or CE marks, and looking for verified purchase reviews that might mention safety issues.

The first phase of the campaign before Christmas targeted 16-25-year-olds.
