Increase in bass minimum conservation reference size

Last week European Union member states voted to increase the minimum conservation reference size for bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) to 42cm.

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1316 applies a minimum conservation reference size of 42cm for bass as a derogation from annex XII of the “technical conservation” regulation (Council Regulation (EC) 850/98) as of 1 September 2015.
