Gangmasters Licensing Authority

The GLA operates a licensing scheme for businesses which supply labour to the farming, food processing & packaging and shellfish gathering sectors. It also enforces the criminal offences in the Gangmasters Licensing Act 2004 on behalf of Defra.

Established April 2005. Income is generated from Enforcement: £2,600,000 + £100,000 (Northern Ireland).
